Institute of Church and Society
Through research on various social issues of politics, economy, culture, and welfare. The institute finds solutions from a theological perpsective, then presents ethical and cultural alternatives. For this purpose, Institute of Church and Society forms strategic alliances not only with the church, but also with other social institutions and professionals for mutual understanding and development of the church and society. The institute also builds and expands a network of scholarship and personnel by co-sponsoring international symposiums, lectures, and seminars in Japan and China.
Institute for the Study of Church Music
The purpose of this institute is to study various practical issues arising in the life of ministry (customs and traditions, preaching, counseling and etc), and to seek the development of church music through academic analysis and leadership training. The ultimate goal of the institute is to contribute to the development of the Korean church and its ministry.
Institute of Church and Communication
This institute is composed of Church and Communication Research Center, and Preaching Clinic Center. The purpose of this institute is to contribute to the development of the Korean church through various researches on worship, proclamation of the Gospel, and effective communication skills.
Christian Education Research Institute
The purpose of this institute is to contribute to the vitality of church education and leadership training, and to publish and distribute materials and resources related to Christian education. The institute publishes a monthly magazine called Church Education and operates the Education Resource Center that provides various data related to Christian Education, and hosts seminars on education
ministry.
Institute for the Study of Christian Thought
The institute seeks to contribute to the Korean church society, as well as the church and humanity of the greater world through the study of Christian thought.
Institute of Counseling Ministry
The purpose of this institute is to examine current developments and issues in family life related to ministry. It offers various seminars, with particular attention given to theological understanding of humanity, church, and society. The institute explores new paradigms of counseling ministry and develops various theories and programs related to family ministry. It also offers leadership training and pastoral care. The institute seeks to bring healing and renewal to families and to contribute to the growth of counseling ministry.
Institute of Biblical Studies
The purpose of this institute is to lay the biblical foundation of theology through academic research. It seeks to enhance the dialogue and cooperation between church and theology through international exchange.
For this purpose, the institute holds four annual symposiums to expand the breadth of biblical understanding.
Institute of Holy Land Studies
The institute of Holy Land Studies is devoted to an in-depth study of historical, geographical, and archeological contexts of the Bible for better understanding of the scripture. The institute strives for peace in the Middle East region in relation to the Holy Land. It also seeks to contribute to the development of the Korean church by organizing trips and educating ministers, seminarians, and the lay persons.
Korean Institute of the Bible & Holy Land Studies in Jerusalem (KHLS)
Israel is the region where major biblical events took place. Providing education in both theory and practice, participants may visit Israel and its sites where Biblical artifacts were excavated. Through these programs, KHLS trains Biblical scholars and provides them with opportunities to deepen their research.
For ministers and laypeople, the institute organizes visitation programs to deepen their faith and understanding of the Bible.

The Center for World Mission is a specialized institute established in 1974 in response to the Lord's Great Commission, "go and make disciples of all nations," and the world's request, "come and help us." It provides missionary training, mission leadership programs, and research in mission related issues. CWM contributes to world mission through its leadership programs, training missionaries and international church leaders, and through missiological education, publications, and internet mission newscast (missioncast).
Institute of History and Ecumenics
The institute conducts research on the history
of Christianity, ecumenical movements, theology, and mission to contribute to the progress of the Korean church and its theology, and the society. For this, the
institute plans to hold regular ecumenical forums and mission symposiums to exchange scholarships. By translation, publication, and distribution of ecumenical resources,
the institute paves the way for the future of the Korean church and the further spread of ecumenism in the Korean church.
Institute of Korean Church History
The institute studies the history of Korean Church by discovering materials related to the Korean Church and its origin, characteristics, theology, and mission activity. There are three broad activities the institute offers: study of regional church history by holding academic seminars with local church historians; field investigation of sites in Japan, China, and Korea significant to the history of Korean Church; translation and publication of various materials on Korean church history into English to promote internationalization of the history of the Korean Presbyterian Church.
The institute prepares for the future of the Korean Church by recalling and examining the past.
